1963 Buick Riviera
1963 blessed the Riviera with a distinct body design differing from any other GM marque and this particular example is equipped with the standard Buick V8, a 401 cu in (6.57L) motor. Power is transferred smoothly through an automatic transmission. The larger engine in the Riviera meant it had markedly better performance than its contemporaries. Power steering and power brakes with 12″ aluminum-finned drums were standard on all 1963 Rivieras, as was the double wishbone suspension setup in front with a live axle + trailing arm set up in the rear to provide both a controlled, but comfortable ride. Limited production of the Riviera in 1963 assured buyers a certain “exclusivity” compared to other Buick models. Inside you’ll find four bucket seats wrapped in black leather, the front pair being bisected by a center console with floor shifter and AM/FM radio. Unique to the deluxe interior option were walnut inserts on both doors, as well as below the rear windows. Popular added-cost options present on this vehicle include: A/C that blows cold, power windows and power driver’s seat. The Granada Black Metallic paint presents well and sets off the “Coke bottle” styling nicely. All chrome is present and in good condition. Take a cruise in this head-turning classic today!
