1941 Chevrolet AK Series
Frame off restored 1941 Chevrolet AK Series shortbed pickup finished in metallic green and powered by a 350 SBC V8 with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The front end on this truck has been upgraded to a Mustang II unit with power rack steering, dropped spindles, and power front disc brakes. The Oldsmobile rear end boasts 3:55 gearing and the suspension is the wishbone variety with adjustable coil-over shocks. The AK Series was based on the GM A platform and shared its appearance with Chevrolet passenger cars of the time. This pickup expands on the original design with suicide doors, power windows, tilt steering column, Shark gauges, bucket seats, diamond stitched headliner, custom door panels with the Chevrolet bowtie, an NOS chrome grille, 17″ Ridler 306 rims in the front wrapped in 215/5517 tires and 18″ rims with 245/5018 in the rear. Only 3,800 miles since the restoration was completed.
